Struggling To Get Back In The Right Mind Set
The last few weeks, or couple of months really, I have really struggled to stick with my routine and get myself back into the right mind set for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
My exercise routine has completely been blown out the window, that stopped back in July when my doggy passed away and I haven’t been out running since and I am really struggling to get back into it.
My diet has also just been blown out the window when I reached Consolidation Phase on the Dukan Diet and thought I was really smart and could do it my own way without sticking to the diet.
Well, I was wrong!
I guess that is why they have the Consolidation Phase, so that you do have that extra time to adjust to new eating habits and a new lifestyle and not just go back to your old ways – like I have!
I haven’t weighed myself again since the other week when I had put on a kilo, I’m hoping I haven’t put on any more than that, I don’t really feel like I have but I’ve been putting off stepping back onto those scales.
So what I need to do is weigh myself and get my new starting weight. Then I need to get my Dukan Diet book back out and get back onto the diet. Not only to lose that extra bit of weight again, because I really still don’t have a lot to lose, but to keep myself on track and stop myself from putting it all back on again. Also to keep myself healthy and fit, I really need to start exercising again.
Now I just need to get myself in the right mindset to do it – that is the difficult part. When I first started out on the Dukan Diet I was in the right mindset and determined to lose weight and get fit – my head was where it needed to be, but unfortunately it isn’t anymore.
So maybe I need to get the book out and sit down and read it again and that might help me to start getting back into the swing of it and thinking right.
Wish me luck!
I Was Too Scared To Weigh In
I haven’t weighed in for a few weeks and I was actually too scared to because I was sure that I’d put on weight. Even more reason to do it I decided in the end and stepped on those scales.
Before we get to that though, I had a little motivation from my husband who just decided one day that he needed to get fit and lose some weight. He doesn’t have a lot to lose but he decided it was time he lost the little bit he needed to. So he went out for a run one night – yes in the dark – and started eating healthier foods.
It’s Been A Couple Of Weeks Since I Weighed In
I had been about three weeks or so since I last weighed in and to be honest I am too scared to do a weigh in. I’m sure I would have put weight back on and I know that I should weigh in to find out. I haven’t done any exercise in a while either and really must start doing something SOON.
I have completely lost track of my eating and I’m not even doing my one protein day a week. I am So SLACK! It’s really silly too considering how much effort I put into sticking to my diet and reaching my goal weight only to slacken off and not maintain it.
Put back on 1.1kg after 2 bad weeks on Consolidation Phase
That was not what I wanted to see when I stepped on the Wii this morning to weigh myself, but it didn’t surprise me. I really haven’t been sticking to the proper Consolidation Phase of the Dukan Diet at all. So although I’m still at a reasonable weight, a gain of 1.1kg is just not what I wanted, so now I’m back to trying to lose that weight again.
My dieting has actually been really bad the last couple of weeks and I haven’t been exercising either. I’m still only 200 grams above my ‘ideal’ weight for my height and age, but 900g above my ‘goal’ weight. So I do need to lose that 900g and get back to my goal.
Foods for Energy
I never seem to have any energy, I never had energy before I started dieting and I certainly don’t have any now. So the question is ‘why don’t I have any energy’? I’m guessing the answer to that question is likely that I am not eating enough of the foods that I need for energy. So today I have just pulled out of my bookshelf a book that I’ve had for years called ‘The Natural Health Bible’ and I’m going to have a look through and see what it says about foods for energy.
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates provide energy and other nutrients. Unfortunately with the Dukan Diet you don’t eat carbohydrates and I guess that is one reason that some people say this diet isn’t very good, as these are foods that our body does need. This is one reason I changed over to do more of the Every Other Day Diet, because it wasn’t quite as restricted with foods. Read the rest of this entry »
