Dukan Diet Attack Phase
The Attack Phase is the first phase of the four phase Dukan Diet. This phase is quite short and gives a quick start to your weight loss journey. The attack phase can be anywhere from one day to ten days depending on your circumstances and how much overall weight you need to lose. The average time on the attack phase is five days.
The attack phase is a protein only phase so your diet is quite limited for those few days but you will lose weight fast during this time. Proteins are reasonably low in kilojoules compared with other foods and because of their complex structure the body actually works harder to digest them. As a result you burn more kilojoules processing protein than you would with any other food. A protein rich diet (short term) purges the tissues of excess water and also reduces the appetite.
A protein only diet should only be used short term as it does lack many essential vitamins and minerals that your body needs, this is why the protein only phase of this diet is only for a few days.
Foods To Eat During The Attack Phase
Anything that is not on the Dukan Diet food list for the Attack phase is banned. If you want good results it is very important to stick to these foods and only these foods.

It is very important to have at least 1.5 litres of water a day or there is a good chance that you may become constipated during this phase.
