Dukan Diet Cruise Phase
The cruise phase is the second phase of this high protein diet and now we have the introduction of vegetables. During this phase you alternate between days of protein only to days of protein plus vegetables. You can choose to alternate every day – one day protein only, one day protein and vegetable, one day protein, and so on. Or if it is easier you can choose to alternate every two days or every five days, as long as you make sure that you have an equal amount of protein only days and protein plus vegetable days.
Although the cruise phase doesn’t give as quick weight loss as the attack phase, you should still lose around 1kg a week during this phase.
Foods To Eat During The Cruise Phase
During the cruise phase of the Dukan diet you can eat all of the foods included in the Attack Phase and also add an array of the following vegetables:
- artichoke
- asparagus
- beetroot
- broccoli
- cabbage
- cauliflower
- carrots
- kale
- brussel sprouts
- capsicum
- celery
- celeriac
- chicory
- cucumber
- eggplant
- fennel
- french beans
- leeks
- mushrooms
- onion
- pumpkin
- radish
- salad leaves
- sorrel
- soy beans
- spinach
- swede
- tomatoes
- turnip
- zucchini
You can eat as many vegetables as you like, but it is recommended to only eat until you no longer feel hungry. Carrots and beetroot are quite starchy so try not to have these for every meal.
During the cruise phase you should increase your exercise to 30 minutes brisk walk every day and continue to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day.
So if you are looking for a diet that will help you to lose weight quick then the Dukan diet is a good choice with a weight loss average of 1kg (2.2lb) a week.
