Mmmm – Turkey Bolognese
I bought all this turkey mince last week because it was on special so the other night I had a Turkey Burger and tonight I thought I’d try to make a bolognese with it. It turned out quite well actually and very filling too.
So while my husband and kids had southern style crumbed chicken with crispy potato slices, I had my nice, high protein, no fat turkey bolognese.
Ingredients:
- 500g turkey mince
- 1 clove garlic – chopped
- 1/2 onion – chopped
- 2 mushrooms – chopped
- 1/4 zucchini – chopped
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 lite baby belle cheese
Method:
Saute the chopped onion and garlic for a couple of minutes. Add the mushroom and zucchini. After about 1 more minute add the turkey mince. Cook until the turkey mince is cooked through. Add the can of diced tomatoes.
Heat through and then serve in a bowl topped with grated baby belle cheese.
You could add other herbs or spices to the dish for more flavour if you like. I was actually going to add some baby spinach leaves but forgot to add them (I remembered after I served it up).
